Minimalism

It is what it is – simple geometric shapes based on squares and rectangles that represent order, simplicity, harmony, and truth (1).

Taking inspiration from the portfolio of ten woodcuts, Untitled from an untitled portfolio (1988) by Donald Judd (2)(3), I created the above images using Adobe Illustrator.

Simple truths

Whatever you’re creating, simplicity is the ultimate goal.

Take a complex thought and reduce it down to a simple, powerful (truthful) message.

At the foundation of any great idea is the truth, the most powerful force in creativity.

Sir John Hegarty – advertising executive and a founder of the agency Bartle Bogle Hegarty

Good ideas don’t have to be complicated
The greatest ideas are the simplest
Decide what to leave out
Keep it simple

Anything simple always interests me.

David Hockney – Painter, draftsman, printmaker, stage designer, and photographer

Simple is sexy
Sex sells

It is what it is

The truth
