Conquer Your Fears and Limitations

What's stopping you from achieving your goals? And more importantly, how will you overcome it?

We all have unique barriers that keep us from reaching our full potential as creative entrepreneurs. These barriers can come in many forms, such as self-doubt, lack of resources, or support. But the good news is, no matter how big these barriers may seem, they can be overcome.

Self-doubt is one of the most common barriers that hold us back. It's easy to get caught up in negative thoughts and convince ourselves that we're not good enough or that our ideas will never work. But the truth is, self-doubt is just a state of mind. To overcome self-doubt, I recommend focusing on your strengths and previous accomplishments by a list of all the things you've achieved and reminding yourself that you have what it takes to succeed.

Another common barrier is the perception of a lack of resources. You may feel like you need more time, money, or equipment to pursue your creative entrepreneurial dreams. But the truth is, you only need a few resources to get started and to start making progress. Be grateful for what you already have. Because you can always find a way to work with what you have. And remember, as you continue down your creative path, you will be rewarded for your efforts with more resources.

A lack of support can also be a barrier. It can be challenging to pursue your creative entrepreneurial dreams when the people around you don't understand or support what you're doing. But remember, you don't need anyone's approval to pursue your dreams. So surround yourself with like-minded individuals who will support and encourage you. And remember, you can always get in touch with me for support.

By focusing on your strengths and successes, being grateful for what you have, and surrounding yourself with like-minded individuals, you can conquer your fears and "so-called" limitations.

So don't let anything stop you from making your dreams real. Because you've got this!

Master the skills of a thriving creative entrepreneur

What knowledge, skills, and resources do you need to make your creative ideas real?

As a creative entrepreneur, it's essential to constantly be learning and growing to stay ahead of the game. But where do you start?

This is where future skills stacking comes into play. To be successful, you must build a solid foundation of knowledge, resources, skills, habits, and characteristics of a thriving creative entrepreneur. This includes honing your main creative strength and passion, whether as an artist, writer, designer, blogger, etc. In addition, the following skills, habits, and characteristics are essential for success in the new creative economy:

  • Problem-solving: The ability to think outside the box and come up with new and innovative ideas.
  • Adaptability: The ability to pivot and adjust to changes in the market and industry.
  • Digital literacy: Familiarity with technology and digital tools to help you create and distribute your work.
  • Business smarts: Knowledge of how to run a successful business, from financial management to marketing and sales.
  • Networking: The ability to connect with other creatives and industry professionals to build partnerships and collaborations.
  • Resilience: The ability to bounce back from setbacks and keep pushing forward toward your goals.
  • Continuous learning and personal development: The willingness to constantly learn and improve your skills and knowledge.

Focusing on these skills, habits, and characteristics will be able to power up and bridge the gap from where you are today to where you need to be to make your creative dreams real.

Making it Happen: My Power Up Story

I have been working in the fragrance industry for over 25 years.

But while I love my day job as a professional perfumer, I decided I don't want to limit myself to one medium. That's why I decided to power up and become an artist and creative entrepreneur.

As an artist, by making cool things every day, I continue exploring and developing my unique Perfectly Imperfect creative style of evolving the minimalism & opt-art artists of the 60s & 70s by making urban-inspired virtual graffiti collages and woodblock prints.

As a creative entrepreneur, I've had to teach myself everything from building this website from scratch (everything you see on this website, I've made myself) to learning the art of marketing and promoting my art, content, products, and services. And I've taught myself how to set up my e-commerce store and affiliate marketing program.

Powering up hasn't always been easy, but my journey has been incredibly rewarding – I fucking love it!

I've learned so much along the way, from reading dozens of books on art history, copywriting, sales, marketing and content creation to listening to hundreds of hours of podcasts and learning from experts in the field.

I've also found ways to power up by connecting with other creatives by founding my group, the Creative Connection, for solo artists, creative entrepreneurs, bloggers, designers, musicians, photographers, and writers who work alone and seek honest, friendly, constructive feedback and accountability.

And I also learned about automated email marketing to create my newsletter the Creative Connection.

I still have a long way to go before I make all my creative dreams real, but I'm continuing to power up to make things happen. And I know that if I can do it, you can too!
